ACBSP Accreditation Experience Exchange: International University & University of Finance – Marketing

On the afternoon of April 3, 2025, International University – VNU-HCM (IU) had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) to study and exchange experiences on ACBSP accreditation of the Business Administration training program.

 

ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs) is a prestigious international accreditation organization for undergraduate and graduate programs in the field of business and economics. Established in 1988 in the United States, ACBSP is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

The UFM delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Viet – Vice President, accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hang Nga – Head of Training Management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh The Nguyen – Dean of Faculty of Business Management, MSc. Dam Duc Tuyen – Head of Testing and Quality Assurance, along with representatives from relevant faculties/departments/offices.

On behalf of International University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu – Vice President, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Minh Tri – Dean of School of Business (BA), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vong Binh Long – Head of Office of Quality Assurance and Testing (QATO), and representatives from BA and QATO attended the opening meeting.

Having a speech at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu emphasized: “Accreditation is one of the key goals of International University, aiming to ensure the quality of all training programs and continuously improve to approach international standards.” He also shared that in 2023, the Business Administration training program at IU was accredited by ACBSP with the maximum recognition period of 10 years, valid until November 20, 2033 – marking an important milestone that recognizes IU’s efforts in ensuring education quality in line with international standards. IU is willing to share experiences throughout the ACBSP accreditation process and considers this meeting a valuable opportunity to exchange, learn, and share outcomes in training and accreditation with UFM.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Viet – Vice President of the University of Finance – Marketing – shared that UFM and IU both have many similarities in terms of the timing of student admissions and management mechanisms. Currently, 100% of UFM’s training programs have been accredited according to the national accreditation standards (MOET). In the upcoming phase, UFM aims to conduct ACBSP accreditation for the Business Administration program as well as several other programs. He expressed the UFM’s strong desire and expectation to receive valuable experience and support from IU in preparing for and welcoming the ACBSP evaluation team.

At the meeting, International University shared the experiences in implementing ACBSP accreditation through practical topics, such as the accreditation preparation process, conducting self-assessment based on ACBSP standards, challenges and corresponding solutions, as well as post-accreditation quality maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.

The meeting took place in an open and collaborative atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of experience sharing between two universities with many similarities in training models and management mechanisms.

At the end of the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Viet expressed his sincere gratitude to International University for their genuine, practical, and valuable sharing. He affirmed: “This exchange program will make a significant contribution to supporting UFM in effectively preparing for ACBSP accreditation, while also opening up the potential for extensive future collaboration between the two universities.”
